Safir Freelance is looking for a desktop support technician for a project of at least 6 months in Brussels. Our client is a leading, international company in the automotive sector. As a desktop support technician you'll have the following tasks:
- provide remote and local support to outlying users and locations
- execute requests, release/fetch hardware equipment to/from customers
- diagnosis & problem solving of level 2 incidents
- escalate level 3 support issues to the appropriate IS group
- follow up on pending calls/activities/requests for quality assurance
- identify the overall desktop performance trends & problems
- propose desktop performance improvements & collaborate with peers to implement
- deployment of fixes & upgrades of any software installed on the desktop computers
- maintain technical documentation
- provide documentation & training to the level 1 support team
- execute small projects as needed
- act as a team leader when required
As a desktop support specialist you have the following qualifications:
- Windows XP & 7
- Microsoft SMS
- VBscript
- DNS; DHCP
- TCP/IP
- LAN/WAN & VPN
- Printing services
- Office 2003/2010
- Imaging (ghost,...) and third party utilities
- Asset management
- strong analytical & problem solving skills
- be able to work independently while keeping a team spirit
- very good knowledge of English and French or Dutch
- be able to travel (Europe) as needed to support the client's remote sites
